1. Screen and  investigate cases for merit.
2. Define applicable standards of care, adherences, and deviations.
3. Assess alleged damages and/or injuries.
4. Identify factors that caused or contributed to the alleged damages and/or injuries.
5. Interpret, translate, organize and summarize medical records.
6. Identify and recommend potential defendants.
7. Conduct literature search and integrate literature into case analysis.
8. Research and analyze case validity and reliability of studies used by all parties.
9. Identify and review relevant medical records, essential documents/tangible items.
10. Interview plaintiff and defense clients, key witnesses and experts.
11. Identify types of testifying experts needed. Locate and interface with expert witnesses.
12. Serve as a liaison/communicator between the attorney and healthcare providers, testifying experts, witnesses and other consultants.
13. Analyze and compare expert witness reports and other work product.
14. Prepare interrogatories, deposition and trial examination (cross or direct). Prepare witnesses and experts for deposition and trial.
15. Assist in exhibit preparation.
16. Attend depositions, trials, review panels and arbitration and mediation hearings. Review, analyze and summarize depositions including past testimony.
17. Coordinate and attend independent medical examinations. Develop life care plans.
18. Expand the attorney’s medical library.
